Does having a good sound card make your games perform better?

I was just wondering, if you have a good sound card, does that make the games themselves run faster and have a faster frame-rate ect... ?

No it does what it says on the tin... makes the sound better

There is a slight difference now that sound is one less issue the CPU has to worry about. So yes, having a sound card helps. Slightly.

No, unless you call 1-3 more fps, better? I've seen no difference in FPS with a dedicated sound card. I get better sound. :P

Okay, thanks for the info. I was looking at a Sound Card, and in the description it said it increases frame rate, so that's what got me thinking.
