(Topic) I wondered about this for quite some time now, because the chipsets are always the same right? So does it matter?
I just ordered a 7950GT 512 from eVGA.. I heard that's okay, but i really wondered if it matters at all.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
eVGA, XFX, etc are just manufacturers of nVidia's video cards.
There's really no huge difference between them apart from the warranties they offer and how they clock the video cards.. type of cooling, etc.Â

eVGA is good, you might want to use eVGA's step up program 3 months within purchasing that 7950GT to get a better video card.

well heres a word of fact the 8800gts 320mb is more powerfull than what youve bought .ROCKINGFOOL
That's not an answer to my question smart guy.. I bought the 7950GT deal with it.
Â
And to SkimanJohn thank you for your advice. I must say I won't upgrade from 7600GT, but i need 2 PC's, so the other one needs to be built from scratch. Since the 8800 line is too expensive for me, I went for the 7950.

[QUOTE="ForlornHope"]some lkike XFX factory overclock and have cooler looking black heatsinks :)royvanderhoorn

OK, well I'm not going to look inside the PC all the time, so that doesn't matter to me lol :).
Â
it does if you have a windowed case. :D
when u get the EVGA card and regesiter it online. you get lifetime warr. :) alot better then XFXSiKh22
I disagree, you get a DOUBLE-LIFETIME warranty with XFX. So when I go to sell my XFX I can sell it on fleabay with a warranty, unlike EVGA. Don't get me wrong I like EVGA, but I like XFX and BFG more.
Â
XFX makes very nice VGAs. I bought a 7600 GT Xtreme Edition 3 months before coming to London. Honestly, the VGA is very good and already comes with a good factory overclock. About the EVGA i have some friends in Brazil who have bought it and had not very nice experiences...although I personaly have never had a go.
By the way i know two very nice brands which ones worked absolutely perfect to me:
RealTek - I had a GF2 GTS 32mb and worked perfectly well, in my opinion it s the best brand to buy a NVidia card, however it s slightly expensive than the others.
MSI - Another very good brand. I had GF2 Ti 64mb which one i bought in 2002 I sold past year to buy my currently XFX 7600GT.
And now I m looking forward to a 8800 GTS 640mb before leaving hte country. A XFX looks good but it s quite expensive and regarding the forum users feedback of BFG. IF XFX s price will not drop in the following month i would buy a BFG.

Okay, I bought the eVGA 7950 on eBay, so no warranty for me I'm afraid.. I trust everything works just fine, the seller looks good and sells stuff on a daily basis, with only 1 negative comment. I've never had any trouble with gfx cards, as long as you don't mess around with it and start trying to be smart and overclock it or use crappy applications like someone mentioned here :).
