more important than clock speed i the architechture of the card... thats why an 8800gtx has a core clock of 575 and is still the best card on the market more than a year later.
well im sure that a new hd3850 will outperform an 8600 by a wide margin... look at some benches and decide if the difference in performance is woth the difference in money youll have :)
