It has a flight school where you learn the basics of flight if that is what you are wondering. You will need at least a joystick, but many people buy a yoke, throttle quadrant and rudder pedals at least. If you are looking for a game that can be repeatedly played, then get it. FSX (get the deluxe version as it included Acceleration) even has missions that can be played. Once you get the feel for flying, there are a great many freeware and payware aircraft to fly with the payware planes having systems modeled which adds even more depth to the game.

In that flight school, does it teach you while you are flying? and does the demo have that flight school?

I am not so sure with the demo, but with the full version The flight instruction was pretty good especially landing instruction in both plane, prop, jet, and helo.

I can't tell you if the demo has a flight school or not. It may just include the Cessna 172 and maybe the Boeing 737 for you to try out at Sea-Tac airport.

Here is an example of a payware aircraft at a payware airport in FS 2004

.

PMDG 737-800 at Fly Tampa's Vienna

This is a freeware aircraft in a freeware airport in FS 2004.

Milton Shupe AeroCommander at Anchorage International Airport

The flight school does allow you to fly as you learn to fly different aircraft along with procedures like using the ILS to land in low visiblity conditions.

You can try the demo but flying is pointless with the keyboard and will just frustrate you. Get a nice joystick in your price range, I suggest the Saitek X52 to start and get the Deluxe copy from Amazon (hard to find in stores these days) and start flying the tutorials and missions. Once you become familiar with flying different aircraft you might want to join Vatsim. Vatsim is an online flying community that is starting a pilot rating program, a real person will teach you how to fly different planes and speak to real air traffic controllers while you fly with other people. FSX can be a beast though, defrag your system after installation for the best performance.

is gamepad better for flying than a keyboard and mouse? I would buy computer accessories for flight simulators if i'm a a super big hardcore addicted fan. Also they r pretty expensive aren't they just for a certain type of games which i barely play.

You can try flying in the demo with the keyboard but you probably won't make the landing. The keyboard controls do not respond well and you'll find yourself overturning and overcorrecting in flight. One of the missions in the demo is a visual approach from the intermediate category. You can always try that to get a feel for the game but remember that the difference between keyboard and joystick is night and day. You can get peripherals from all different price ranges, you can get a Logitech 3D Pro for $20 - $30.

For test flights when I add new scenery, I fly the Cessna 172 around with this joystick. I have even used it to fly PMDG's 737NG, but when it comes to that, a yoke and throttle quadrant work better.

A joystick is what you need. And then you need to configure it in the settings. The full game has 11 tutorials, I think, under Missions. And as others have said, there is the flight school you can do after the tutorials.

Ok i downlaoded the demo. What kind of demo has 0 TUTORIAL and THE ONLY MISSION is under Challenge: Flour Power? This game is starting to not look good to me. Considering the demo is bad IMO, not going to buy this game and consdering trying Fighter Ace flight simulator.
