I disagree. I have Oblivion with Francesco's, Mart's Monster Mod, and some other addons and the game runs the same as I was on XP (I have both OS installed in the machine).

I had 0 problems with Oblivion on Vista (aside from the fact I think the game sucks and its overrated), and no massive problems with the OS. :|

Oblivion works just fine on Vista. If you're having issues, chances are something is wrong with your system either on a driver or a hardware level. Don't just reinstall the game, completely update all your drivers. Also, if you're trying to play the game on an integrated video card in Vista, that might be a problem.

Oh, and the obligatory 'pics or it didn't happen' comment :P
