This maybe a noob question but I really like to know. My power suppply is 350w at the moment. It seems many compuers now have atleast 450w power supply. I'm thinking about getting a new power supply around 500w-600w. Will this improve my PC performance. My PC spec is below.

Intel P4 3.2ghz
2gb ram DDR2
GeForce 7900gt 512mb
350W powersupply

Thank you.

It wont improve preformance, but right now you are prolly doing alright, but i would still say get a nice 500w power supply for future possibilities

How much money are you working with and is there a particular video card you're looking to pair it up with?

A stable power supply is one of the most important pieces of your rig... you need to think beyond wattage and find out what has stable, solid voltage for your application.

you are fine for now but later you will probably need like 500w for more power hungry vid cards and CPU's

It, technically, can improve performance. A higher quality PSU will be much more stable and you should be able to overclock more.  I got 200-300mhz extra out of my 3200+ going from a crappy ASSpire to an OCZ GameXstream 600w.

Thanks for the suggestion guys. I'm looking for a new power supply at this moment. I know it took me awile to find a GeForce 7900gt that can run on 350W power supply. I just recently intall a DVD burner and now my DVD player doesn't work. Only the DVD burner work. So I'm guessing there're not enough power from the power supply for both DVD to work.
