Does sunlight 'ruin' HD-TVs???

If you mean whilst playing games then yes, it makes it very difficult too play.

If you mean sunlight damaging the on-board screen, then I very much doubt it. Why do you think shops would display them in windows if they damaged them?

but arnt the Hd tvs in the back

Look heres the story my old Hd-tv has blue dots on it. i suspect it may have been damaged by the sunlight it resives. Before i get a new one i want to make sure im not puting a Brand new HD-tv in danger eh?

Yes, make sure to apply at least SPF-30 sunscreen on your TV.
