..Worth buying and playing mind you. Im not talking about games made a year or 2 ago Im talking about upcoming games. It just seems like unless its an MMO its not going to be exclusive to the PC.

All games are moving towards multiplatform these days, not only pc exclusive franchises. The consoles barely has any exclusive at all. Really only from developers that are owned by Microsoft/Sony or that get huge amounts of cash to develop exclusively for their console. The development costs have gotten so high on big budget games that it's not really viable to stay one-platform-exclusive unless someone else is paying you.
Pc is still the platform with the most exclusive games.
There are a number of PC exclusives. Just think of just about any indie game - mount and blade being my favorite. Anyways, new PC exclusives eh? Shogun II: Total War is comming out. The Total War series has been and always will be PC exclusive. I would hate to see what consolization (aka retardification) would do to it. If it's an RTS game, or a grand strategy game of some sort, then it's most likely for the PC only. Consoles really haven't gotten their grimy hands on the RTS genre. Sadly we just have to deal with whats happening to FPS and RGS.
Well put. This is all you need to read to answer your question. All games are moving towards multiplatform these days, not only pc exclusive franchises. The consoles barely has any exclusive at all. Tc you be trollin.. theres no way you were paying any attention to the world around you when you said that. we are getting more exclusives this year then the ps3 or more than the xbox360 and wii COMBINED
id say that warrants tipping a glass to being a pc gamer..
so says the chinese gaming guru's.. so it is written.. and dont you dare make me break out the chart (cause i will)
okay so i just read your response and he stole my chart! thats not fair! i demand an inquiry and restitution!
no good copycat..
I be trollin? Hows about you read my second post. No, I was just looking around Gamespot at a lot of the new 2011 titles and it seemed as though if they werent MMOs or RTS games they were multiplatform, THATS why I made this thread. If I wanted to troll I would at least be original about it.
Okwell I saw your edit..
Wait, YOUR chart? If you saw this chart already then you would know that the PS3 and PC seem to have the same amount of exclusivesm, which is a good thing in my mind because the only console I consider worthy is the PS3..
Are threads like this serious?? There are tons of wicked pc exclusives.. not to mention 90% of the time we get the better of hte multiplats.
- Diablo3 (blizzard)
- Shogun Total War 2
- The Old Republic (bioware...)
- The Witcher 2
Two of those are by two of the best devs around... yet you wonder if there are any exclusives anymore?
Plus there are TONS of older exclusives to (stalker, crysis1, Crysis Warhead, Total War series, Starcraft2, ARMA2, Drakensang, The Witcher, World Of Warcraft. Amnesia, Dawn Of Discovery and so amny more)

CD Projekt RED and Creative Assembly are two of the best devs around? Interesting... ;)

Got to agree with you kozzy. The pc has tons of exclusives coming out but i think that the problem with pc exclusive games is that you typically don't get the huge marketing budget behind them.
So if you're not really looking at what the pc has to offer you're likely not to notice them.
nope.the PC doesn't have any games coming out this year worth playing....also the sky turned green today.lawlessxYou live in England?... It was green here for 10 mins, freaking creepy.
This is a list of pc exclusives in 2011. I'd say around half aren't going to be very good, but that's still a huge amount of good games.

A lot of you are either reading only the title of the thread or just reading the first post...ryuz4ke1
Thats what people do.. they read the Thread Creators first post which is what the thread is about........ and then they comment.
People dont agree with you and are posting facts to back it up, not hard to understand. Also peopel shouldnt have to read thru a whole thread to see what the thread starter is tryign to say.. it should be in the threads first post ya dig?
Okay well I just saw a list and it actually seems like in the year 2011 the PC and the PS3 both have quite a few exclusive games.. way more then the Xbox and the Wii thats for sure. http://forums.gametrailers.com/thread/pc-has-as-many-exclusives-as-t/1164389?page=1ryuz4ke1
Ok, fine, what are we supposed to talk about then? That post doesn't exactly facilitate much, if any, discussion.
/shrug
I dont know, just ignore the thread? Thats what I did after I posted that but then I saw all the replies. Why are you asking me what to do?ryuz4ke1
Because you made the thread? Just a guess though...
So you go through every thread that confuses you and ask the OP what they want you to do?ryuz4ke1
Uhm, you were the one complaining that people only read the title and the first post. When it was explained to you why that happens you became defensive and said, "All they have to do is look right below my first post to see what I wrote."
I read that post, quoted it even, and said that your second post did nothing to advance a discussion. You do realize that's what message boards are for, right? For people to discuss things? So, I simply asked what we should discuss? And again, you get defensive. I was hardly confused but I do have a suggestion...
Don't create a pointless threads and then expect eveyone to play by your rules.
P.S. I like potatoes
In a way I kind of agree with the OP.
If you only include big budget popular titles that aren't "Let's go back to school and learn how this all works" - as in MMO's, RPG's, RTS's, Simulators and the like - then there really isn't a whole lot left. I think - and I could be wrong - that the TC meant games that are easily accessable by the general crowd. You can call these casual games if you want. If there is anything like that where you don't need very specific tastes (niche) or a whole big ass manual and Wikia's just to learn how the game works then there isn't much left.
I may not have explained myself too well. I guess what I'm saying is PC gaming is very techical and very niche and at the end of the day this doesn't leave much to be "popular" unless it's a stripped down/casual experience, which we usually find in multi-platform titles.

I don't care if a game is popular, if it's good it's good. I'll play games like Geneforge every day over games like Fable or FF.

All he mentioned was 'worth playing'.
Regarding your post there is a strong list above: titles like DoW2: Retribution, Torchlight 2 and probably Diablo 3 will most likely be as polished and accessible as the usual console exclusive; that and I havent even mentioned the Sims: Medievil and that new social AoE outing. There is really something for everyone--or every PC gamer for that matter.
In a way I kind of agree with the OP.

To me, all that means is PC gaming is going back to its roots of having complex games which is fine. I know a quite a few who'd love to see that again.
Complex is fine, it's when complex means RPG's and MMO's and nothing else. As the OP presented, look at the list of PC exclusives. RPG, RPG, RPG, RPG, RTS, RTS, RTS, RPG. There's nothing wrong with that of course, if you like RPGs and RTSs but lets face it: RPGs and RTSs are what get gamers the "nerd" and "geek" titles in the first place because you have to be really into those to play them. You have to dedicate and devote a lot of time to learning that game inside out.To me, all that means is PC gaming is going back to its roots of having complex games which is fine. jun_aka_pekto
The simple answer is "don't play them" of course. And if I exclude RPG's ad RTS's then the question stands: does the PC even have exclusives anymore? Where's the casual FPS market? Where are the exclusive driving PC games? Why is it that there's this extreme where consoles have to be over simplified and PC games have to be overly complicated?
For the record I only game on the PC, but I'm finding my interest in gaming and the amount of games I want dwindling. Red Orchestra 2 is the only PC exclusive game I want and I don't even want it that bad.

So you exclude genres to validate your claim? Maybe you can give all the developers a call, then they can start making games to suit you, so you don't feel nerdy.Complex is fine, it's when complex means RPG's and MMO's and nothing else. Well why is it that on consoles, all I see are shooters, shooters, shooters, action game, shooter. See, 2 can play at that game.
So you exclude genres to validate your claim? Maybe you can give all the developers a call, then they can start making games to suit you, so you don't feel nerdy.GeneralShowzerYes for two reasons. Firstly, I was arguing from an opinionated stand point. That's obvious enough.
9/10 of my favourite games are exclusive PC games (aside from a couple who later went on to console versions [Half-Life 2, and Mafia for example]). But new games being released don't seem as accessable as those. As the OP said and as I have said, if they're not MMO's, RTS's or RPG's they are multiplat games. So aside from those 3 genres there's not much else out there.

From a list posted earlier. There are more than just MMO,RTS,RPG out there.Unless you don't care for those games. This is a list of pc exclusives in 2011. I'd say around half aren't going to be very good, but that's still a huge amount of good games.

And ofc. others such as Heroes VI, Torchlight II, etc., there's over 60 exclusives, i've just mentioned the one's that are more known. Add to that multiplatform games. And free indie games. And the mods for every game. PC will always be the God of platforms.
