Does the Phenom only take DDR 800 or will it take 667 too ?

What? The phenom should support anything up to DDR2 800 (and possibly a bit higher, just not DDR3) so long as the motherboard does.

The better question is what memory will the mobo take.. check out crucial.com and tell it what mobo you have, it will list different memory upgrades.. sadly, usually the better memory is more expensive so that is a good guide in most cases..

Heh, I never cheat on:

1) Cooling Fans

2) Power Supplies

3) Memory

Shoot if you get a memory list from crucial, try posting some of the stats here and see what people think.

Memory is pretty darn affordable now days. You can get a couple gigs of name brand 800Mhz DDR2 fairly cheap through online retailers.
