Barebones kit

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4961945&sku=E145-9507

graphics card ( i know i need hdd, dvd drive, etc)

It seems a little to good to be true. I've tried picking apart what is bad about it and I've come to the conclusion that the ram is slow, the cpu cache is small, and the motherboard isn't very expandable. Is that it? I could easily upgrade the ram, or is 667 mhz fast enough? The cpu still seems pretty good even with a smaller cache and I don't have anything I need expansion slots for.

What do you think?

Thanks

If I could stretch the budget a bit, this would be my choice of parts

Combo: Antec 200 & Antec Earthwatts 380W PSU.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA770T AM3 motherboard

Memory: 4GB Crucial DDR3 1333

This stuff actually overclocks VERY well albeit it doesn't have any fancy (and sometimes useless) heatspreaders.

Processor: AMD Athlon II x4 Propus 620

You could shave off a bit of money by going for a regor processor.

Total comes to $331.92 w/o shipping costs. Keep in mind that this build has double the memory, allows future AM3 processors, and has a far, far superior power supply.

The $60 you allocated for the video card would be better spent on a 96SP 9600GSO (which is a re-hash of the 8800GS). Remember to go for the 96SP version, NOT the 48SP card.
