Asus X5QS, 15'6 inch screen with a 1920:1080 resolution although I put games on 1366:768... Intel Core i7, Nvidia Geforce 555M (2GB) and 6GB of RAM. Drivers updated.
Was using this laptop to play Warhammer: Spacemarine and it ran perfectly. Absolute highest settings, ran extremely smooth, didn't check but I wouldn't doubt it being 60fps.
Now I'm trying The Witcher 2 (patch 2.0 installed). And putting it on either high or medium it does't run that smoothly. Some hick-ups just when running around while moving the camera (just playing the tuturial, haven't tried anything else). Playing it on low is decent, but even then I doubt i'm hitting 60fps. So is this normal? I'd expect to be able to run this thing at least on normal settings. I've googled and have found multiple people with this graphicscard have problems with this game. Yet have also seen someone claim he's able to run this game on high with the framerate smooth as butter.
Any idea what settings I should be able to run (smoothly)? Any ideas to get this thing on medium to high settings? Is there maybe something I should be changing in the NVIDIA Controlpanel to achieve better performance in games without sacrificing graphics all that much?.
Just weird since in my opinion Warhammer looks better, there's tons of units with actually somewhat impressive AI, all kinds of special effects going on and it runs great. I understand it's totally different engines and all that, but it feels wrong to me.
Thanks.
