So I've heard about all the complaints of the Setttings lack, level lacking, and controls, but I hoonestly only care about one thing; The game play!
So, is the gameplay the same as Tony Hawk games up to THUG2?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I don't think so, the game is focused on the first two Tony Hawk pro skater games. I don't think it has any of the features from three and up.
Eh, I thought THUG2 was the start of the series downfall, though I played through it a dozen times so I enjoyed it anyways.
But not really, it plays like older THPS titles more then THUG and later, so you can't get off your board and the moveset and realism has been tweaked to match that of THPS3 more. Unfortunately, its not all that great, since the physics are really off (causing players to careen in odd directions or not stick a landing on a ramp for no reason), reverts no longer let you continue combos and its just... weird.
Its like when Hannibal Lecter killed a guy and wore his face as a disguise, its like someone did that to the Tony Hawk series and you can just tell, even if it kind of looks the same, that something horrible wrong has happened.
Its based off Tony hawk 1-2, aka the best tony hawk games. Thank god its not based off of the later ones which pretty much killed the series.

First two games didn't even have reverts. The series reached it's peak with the Underground series.

It definitely reached its peak with THPS3 I'd say. Underground introduced walking and the storyline and online player were enjoyable and refined, but I think at that point they started running out of ideas, and by American Wasteland I kind of gave up since AW wasn't all that fresh or fun.
They're all good though, up to American Wasteland I'd say and Underground 2 is ok but definitely where the ideas began to run dry.

While reverts were a decent addition from a combomaking perspective, whatever realism there was completely went out the window by then. Gameplay felt floaty and at times even gave a slight sense of moonlike gravity. Too easy to transfer from rail to rail, in THPS 2 you could bail hard when attempting even something simple, which made it much more satisfying imo.[QUOTE="kozzy1234"]

Reverts = infinite combos = Snooze fest if I remember correctly.[QUOTE="JangoWuzHere"][QUOTE="kozzy1234"]

Reverts = infinite combos = Snooze fest if I remember correctly. You can do unlimited combos without having reverts.Tony hawk pro skater 3-4 was very cool and fun back in the early 00s. Underground series and american wasteland were total crap.
Thesedays i don't find a reason to play any tony hawk pro skater game, skate series is so much superior, even thou it's boring unless u're one of those mass trend victims teenage skaters with vans and no personality.
