My walmart has a decent selection. It usually gets all the popular games and new releases. It has more self space than the consoles it seems. Any of you buy your physical games at walmart? Its where I buy my physical pc games at.

PC game selection I've seen in wal-mart is low.

They'll have: All sims games, all blizzard games, couple of other popular PC games, and the rest cards and slot machine crap.

What is getting ridiculous is all the PC game cards they have.

It's nothing like late nineties/early 2000s where you had a massive selection of PC games to choose from.

At least that's what I've noticed.

My local Walmart has a fairly pathetic selection of PC games. The only place in my area that has boxed copies of basically any PC game is the local Gamestop, but I hate that place mainly because the people who work there are imbeciles for the most part, and there always seems to be 12 year old kids hanging around the place when they should be at school or studying.

The nearest Wal-mart here has a decent selection of new PC games plus a decent selection of older ones selling for $20 or less. In addition to those, there are also a decent selection of point and click mystery/adventure games.

It's where I bought my "boxed" copy of Alan Wake.

I don't like the way the trend is heading these days of shelf space dwendling as far as pc games go. I think it helps lend the idea to console gamers that pc gaming is dying, when in fact it's just changing. It's going to DD of course. I don't like it though. Before I got into pc gaming, I could go to gamestop or EB and the shelves would be lined with pc games. Now, the opposite is true. Nice to know that pc gaming is still alive, kicking, and even surging forward thanks to indie and kickstarter games, though. Star Citizen here we come!!!

The local one has quite a lot, the PC section is larger than the entire console section and they carry plenty of variety, not just COD and blizzard games. Most aren't like that however, ive been to other walmarts that have pretty mediocre PC selections.

Nothing special. Variety isn't ridiculously high. You may find a game or two you like.

So let me follow your train of thought... You went to walmart and while sifting through their selection of PC games you decided to run back home and ask us internet people if walmart has a good selection of games... Then you proceed to tell us that it does in fact have a decent selection of games followed by a new question that could have been asked in the first place which would have saved me the effort of having to sit here wondering wtf you were thinking when you wrote this topic :P

I like the selection of games at Fry's Electronics, though Wal-Mart and Target are decent too. Thing is, I haven't bought a physical game since Dishonored, and I bought that for half off on Amazon as a Christmas gift for my cousin. The price points in stores for entertainment like videogames and movies, etc just aren't competitive enough. It's cheaper to buy a game digitally almost all of the time. And in the off chance that the physical copy is similarly priced it's usually at a place like Amazon or Ebay.

The walmart in my town has one shelf of PC games. On it, there is Diablo 3, Starcraft 2, COD MW3 and BO2, and Sims 3 + a handful of expansions. All at full price.

That's why you have to be very caaaaare-ful.

My Alan Wake cardboard sleeve is fine. But, the actual DVD case is about as cheap as it gets and there's not even a shred of paper aside from the sticker with the activation key.

Anyway, if I buy a PC game from Wal-Mart, it's usually an impulse buy.

I just remembered...... I went to Wal-Mart last Wednesday. The PC game section took up a whole aisle. The left 1/3 have the newest PC games. The middle 1/3 have the $30 and $20 (older) games plus part of the point and click/mystery/indie/The Sims series. The right 1/3 have the remainder of the latter and the online/dowload cards.

I live in Australia, our Walmart equivalent is called K Mart haha. It's an absolute joke and i've never purchased a PC game from there nor will i ever, all they have on display are blizzard/puzzle games etc. which makes for a very weak selection compared to other places around here.

America call it GameStop but over here it's named EB Games... now they have an awesome selection of PC games both old and new. I've become friends with the guys at my local store so they're very nice and helpful, hell even the others workers there are nice. I'm sure it differs at different stores though lol.

We're lucky here. The prices are similar to those at Steam. The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition in Wal-Mart is also at $19.95 (same as Steam). Some of the older stuff are cheaper though. GTA IV is still $19.95 at Steam while it's $14.95 at the Wal-Mart here.

The walmart selection is decent.  What is really amazing is the PC game section at my local Target.  They actually devote the same amount of space for PC as all of the consoles combined.

I usually just steal them from Walmart. They don't use security devices on their games. I'd never give money to evil greedy Walmart.

Try Staples for the harder to find games. That's were I found Stalker: Call of Pripyat and World in Conflict: Soviet Assault.

I can't think of the last time I found PC game at a good price from what I've seen online. Brick and mortar can't compete with online anymore in terms of PC gaming.

I'm from Long Island, NY and here the top two places to buy PC games from what I've seen are Target and Microcenter . The selection at Walmarts here is pitiful . The prices can't compare to digital downloads though . I can't remember the last time I bought a physical copy of a game.
