How do you turn this off?

I just got Windows 7 up and running, and a new wireless adaptor which works great. The 3rd party software is connecting to my router, but since Windows is still configured to connect it it's giving me that "limited or no connectivity" message. :(

I can find it easily on other computers. You just hit the connection icon on the task bar > then click status > properties > go to the wireless networks tab, and it says right at the top of the box "Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings"

But without actually being connected through wireless it doesn't give me that option so easily :(

Hmm, it works when I'm closer to my router automatically without changing settings........

When I'm downstairs where my computer normally is it still shows 100% connectivity through the 3rd party software, but limited or no connectivity through Windows.

This is annoying to say the least.

Yah, I'm using it right now to surf, but I'm close to my router.

I guess the product just lies about the signal strength. That way if there is a problem you won't blame your adaptor since it says 100% signal strength, and you won't be inclined to give the company bad feedback.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833130066

Decided to get this. I previously had a no-name wireless adaptor that worked incredibly well, and was cheap, so I got this one because a.) I didn't think I'd have any PCI slots available because I got a 5770, and that thing is massive, and b.) it says it works with Windows 7.

Anyways while it does work with Windows 7 it's wireless range is about 2 inches, but even if you are twenty feet away it'll still say you have four or five bars of signal....

Guess I'm going to RMA it back to newegg for a refund, and get a card I know should work. Never done an RMA though, so I'm not sure how it all works.

It just annoys me because I've been out of a computer for a week, and finally my parts show up and I expect to be online by the end of the night playing L4D or Borderlands with my friends, but nope. Guess a few more days won't hurt :? Maybe I can catch up on some reading or something...
