I believe there are mods that far improve what BFG Edition offers. Just Buy Original Doom3 and mod it.

The problem with this is that we won't be able to play the extra levels... I have all the doom games and expansions but I will buy it again because it's a great game.

this is why i'm still trying to decide if i'll get it. i have doom 3 limited edition (comes with doom+2) on xbox, doom 3 + expansion on pc, etc. etc. etc., so i've obviously seen all of that AND with more impressive visuals. i just don't know if its worth the money for a few extra levels, since i have no interest in playing through the dooms again (recently did playthroughs of them :( )

It's still better to give $30 for an 'expansion' of doom 3 (+ all the previous doom games), than to give $20 for Dawnguard.
