looks great, doesn't seem to work though, install it and it doesn't show up in mod list or anything.
Its just a texture upgrade its not a mod as such. You should be able to just copy the texture files over and then see them in game.
Wait.... Some of his pics show 2 fps or even 0 fps. I have a feeling this won't run very well
Is it a sign that I watched the Doom movie today for the first time and this thread gets posted on the same day?DavalPrestor
When I bought Doom 3 I came here and there was a thread called something like "How did it take me so long to play Doom 3" so I know what you mean haha
Just bought Doom 3 super cheap during the Steam sale to replace my disc...PERFECT excuse to load it back up. Looks fantastic.
I haven't tried the mod but those pics are showing parallax occlusion mapping, something Doom 3's engine doesn't natively support, so you would need to get the shader code transferred as well as the texture files. Its just a texture upgrade its not a mod as such. Yeah you can run it with sikkmod and I think you need some other texture packs as well to make it work right. But you could just use the textures and not the POM as they are in seperate folders
I tried it. It ran pretty good on my GTX 470. But SSAO and Soft Shadows kill the performance. I didn't really like the SSAO, though, so I turned it off and sticked with the soft shadows.
Meh who needs the hassle of graphics mod when I can buy my favorite last gen games all over again just to get a small bump in resolution :DMy jaw is on the floor..
This is why PC gaming will always be the best form of gaming available.

I for one need them. PC gaming wouldn't half as appealing to me if it weren't for mods

It's common to see that Doom 3 modders have very low spec PCs for some reason (I'm talking 7000/8000 series Nvidia GPUs). The POM is apparently hardware taxing, but not more-so than what modern GPUs can handle.
