Hello, a little ago i tried to download something, but I noticed I couldn't get past 200kb per second. . even when im just downloading a demo from a website or something, i just can't get past the damn 200kb per second. I hate this because i used to get to 1.3mb/1300kb per second (utorrent). Does anyone know what the problem is here? * i have a router, maybe that's it? i dont know, not really a technical guy xD
Download speed depends on a lot of things. The main 1 being the amount of bandwidth the site you're getting the file from has. The easiest way to test your bandwidth is to use any of the speed testers online or download from a site like Microsoft.com who have massive bandwidth and are proxied everywhere. If you're not happy with your download speeds it's time to talk to your ISP.
even if i download @ microsoft.com i can only get up to 200 kb max. for example.. i have like 3 torrents. if you add them up they never exceed the 200 kb. its like 100kb+50kb+50kb.
TC - give your ISP a call. Get them to run some diags on your internet connetion from there end. They should be able to fix or at least explain the issue to you.
AAAh, just got my key for the cod WAW beta, and im downloading at a constant rate of 205 kb per second.. i know my download can go faster, it exceeded the 200 kb a bit :( but i used to get like 900 kb or so, and even up to 1.3mb per second. Doesn't anybody know what the problem is? i hate calling my isp, the wait time is rediculous.
I think its happening because i used to get 1.3 mb when nobody was using the router except me.. but now my xbox 360 ánd my fathers computer is connected to it and that restricts me from going over the 200 kb. but my father never uses his computer so thats why i hate it so much >=[
hmm, oke. i tried connecting directly with my modem. still, i can't get past the total of 200kb per second. Now that i know it's not the modem, i really don't know what to try xD help appreciated.
