Dragon Age Origins (POLL)

Well with the Character Creator released now and people having a chance to play around with creating characters, do you think this game is going to be big or just another RPG? I'm personally enjoying making different looking characters etc..

I really haven't been following this game but after doing some research I placed a Pre Order. I like the fact that they aren't going to be using securom and other software also.

I have faith in Bioware so yeah I think that it's going to be a big hit!

A hit, Bioware doesn't make games that aren't hits, even their worst games are still extremely fun and interesting (Jade Empire for example).

Well they have made some awesome, if not BEST RPG's ever or so I've heard. I loved the KOTOR games but haven't played much else from them. As soon as I found out they were the ones making Star Wars The Old Republic... I was kinda sold. LOL

I know, I know don't count my eggs before they have been layed.

Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights are awesome as well

Not for me. It looks like Bioware's worst CRPG so far, imo.

*edit* But yeah, sure, it'll probably sell well and get good reviews.

I think the modding community will have a big role in sales too.

It's weird cause you know what game is a hit when your friends are talking about it. Halo, Half-Life, Call of Duty, Wii sports etc etc.

However noone I know (including myself) likes a Bioware game and still waiting for their big hit. Maybe it will be SWTOR but I doubt it as most people don't enjoy mmorpgs.

I would hope it would be as big as FallOut 3 because that game imo was not all that great. It was fun for about a week and thats trying mods etc.

I don't know why some of these games make it so big and other good ones don't. I guess it's all about appealing to the masses... like HL2 etc.

Yea, I guess BIg isn't a good word to describe what I meant. I meant Good, Great, Worth Playing Over and Over again because it's so fun. But I also meant BIG in the way people talk about and make content for BIG games... mods, maps etc.

Edit: What game do you think a person could play right now that would give you a good idea about what this game will be like? Someone told me Balder's Gate 2 but...

I think it will be a great game but i dont think it will be a big 'hit' (big sales etc.)

Simply because:

1. its a pc game (big piracy issue)

2. its a rpg game (only shooters or sports are hugely popular)

I havent read if they are doing some internet only cd key verifiaction or other form of copy protect but usually people find ways around this anyway. its a real shame as pc games used to be the highest quality and best value for money platform.

They are just doing the disc check with DAO... no securom etc.

A Critics rating of 9 has already given in GS..Also the videos looks amazing so i thing it is going to be a big hit...

I'm sure it will be a huge smashing success with scads of glorious glowing reviews but whether or not it'll actually be a good game is a completely different story. I want to believe that Bioware can recapture some of that Baldur's Gate glory but a lot of the previews I've read have me concerned. The game, or at least how they are marketing it, seems a little sophomoric and juvenile.

I'm trying to keep an open mind but the more I see the less impressed I am.

will it be big? it's one of the most hyped games in years so it's gonna be HUGE in terms of sales, that's a no brainer there. but will it be great? i have yet to decide on that. we'll see.
