I just got the expansion pack dragons awakening. Should I complete the original game before moving on to this? If I was to play the expansion now, will it ruin my game in terms of spoilers etc.

I would suggest playing the Main Game first: that way, if you wind up with a character you really like, you can import him from any save into the expansion.

Ok cheers, I wouldn't usually even think of moving on to an expansion before completing the original...It's only because I am stuck and it's really annoying lol

Heeell no, do complete the original first. If you're stuck, just scale the difficulty to easy - better than not being able to progress.

If you are stuck you can look up some help on line, the Dragon Age Wiki has alot of good information (dragonage.wikia.com I believe). There are minor spoilers in the expansion for the original, though you can import a character from any point in its life using the Advanced import feature - it just will retcon the ending if you haven't finished the original. That said finish up the original game and then move on, some things will make more sense (the end of the original game talks about why you are being sent to where you are in the expansion). There is a sad lack of companion depth in the XPac in my eyes, which has halted me playing it - it also isn't nearly as long as the original (put in about 70 hours on one character to complete the original, missing some quests - XPac has me at around 10-15 with only 2 major quests and no available side quests left.

Thanks for the info guys:)

I'll finish the original first before going on to the expansion. Wow! 70 hours lol... I am 25 hours in at the moment so I should have alot of play left which is good!
