I was wondering if Dragon Age supports SLI out of the box, if not perhaps with a patch?

Dragon Age is NOT a game that NEEDS SLI at all...
It plays just fine at max detail 2xaa on my 8600 GT paired with an athlon X2 5200+ with 2gb of RAM @ 1280x1024.
There is NO NEED for SLI for this game.
Heck these are the requirements for the video card for XP.
Video: ATI Radeon X850 128MB or greater;
NVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT 128MB or greater.

AND max details, 16x AF and 4x AA at 1680x1050, is gonna need way more than that to play at good framerates.

Depends what his standards are, but that 5200+ will choke on this game at max settings. I used to have one and am so glad I made a cheap stop-gap upgrade. Ive actually seen increases of up to 15 fps by changing to my current cpu, and my frames can dip to 27 fps when lots of npcs are near... I drop to high instead of very high and never see anything below 30 fps.[QUOTE="Lach0121"][QUOTE="kilerchese"]

You can hardly claim that there is no need for SLI for this game. What you meant to say was "If you're going to run the game at a s.h.i.t.t.y resolution like I am, there is no need for SLI for this game."
Some of us prefer to run the game at 16 AF and 8 AA at 1920 x 1080 or beyond. And still want butter smooth framerates. And so yes, SLI is needed for this game. And it looks fantastic.

go 945, am2+ is a dying socketNow people have a better selection of MBs for AM3 chips. When I was looking to move away from my AMD 64 X2 5600+, AM3 was just hitting the shelves. I could not find a single MB at the time that supported the use of SLI on an AM3 board.
I decided to go with the Phenom II x4 940 and I picked up a great MB to go with it and after stepping up from that 5600+ to my x4 940 and OC'ing it a little - I've seen gains of 15-25% across the board in performance. The game that didn't get much of a performance boost was Crysis - I went from playing on a medium-high settings (no AA/AF) to mostly high settings (no AA/AF).
I've not only got a good CPU to last a long while, I also gave more life to my 8800GTS 512 cards that I run in SLI.
As for Dragon Age, SLI works just fine. I crank the settings up and things run great for me.
People like you need to get your head out of your butt. Yes, this game does need SLI. Why you ask? Because first of all people game at higher resolutions, secondly, people like to max out their games (2x AA didn't max it genius), thirdly, if you HAVE maxed out the game and are not achieving 60 frames per second there is ALWAYS a reason to go SLI. And trust me, with that piece of **** card I can only imagine what kind of performance you're achieving.Dragon Age is NOT a game that NEEDS SLI at all...

Edit (as a side note): That's also like me telling other users that there is no need for a 5870, 295gtx, or 5970 card because my old 8 series gets the job done. Ya...... no... lol
