This might sound like a dumb questio but please don't flame me.

My computer says its a P4 3.20GHZ, 3.19GHZ it has both of those number does this mean its dual core or is there a way to check if it is?

Its not hard to identify what your processor is, whether its a Dual Core or Hyper Treaded. Use cpu-z or something...

Sounds like hyper-treading to me. If so you have one physical core and on logical, if that makes any sense.

Download and run CPU-Z and see what it says for processor.

Maybe Im bating a Dead horse here but I just checked my Hardware Page and My computer does say there are two Processors in my computer although there exactly the same there are two of them does that change anything.

Hypertherad is sorta like dual core(but no where near as good), you have one physical and one logical CPU. Basically your 1 CPU is acting like 2.

The theory behind hyperthreading is that every part of the CPU isn't busy all the time. What hyperthreading tries to do is use those not busy parts to process other instructions at the same time. It's nowhere close to a dual core chip.
