So Im planning on getting a new laptop or desktop this summer and I was thinking of doing a dual monitor set up, mainly for school because I hate doing papers and having to switch back and force between the Internet and my word document. I was wondering what I should try to look for in my new desktop or possibly laptop that would help with the dual monitor set up. Im talking like RAM or graphic cards that would help.

Pretty much any current hardware will be able to run a dual monitor setup. Even those netbooks are able to do dual monitors

I agree, I have seen older IMB laptops supporting both clone and independent mode displays. If you want three monitors you can try the Matrox Triple head to Go add-on box...

you need to have 2 monitor ports for desktop or a port for external monitor for laptops.
