Hey I am looking to build a PC based around the fact I will running a dual monitor setup. The monitors will be 22 or 24 inches, and I need your help finding the right motherboard. I want to do this cheaply, and I don't need really fancy graphics or anything like that. I am planning on getting a motherboard with onboard video for one monitor and getting a graphics card for the other.

I also don't care if it is Intel or AMD.

Thanks!

Edit: Sweet, thanks guys!

I would just get a cheap ($50 range) nvidia card from the 7000 family that has two DVI inputs. I've used the nvidia dual monitor software before and it makes it so easy it's hardly worth worrying about the mobo.

Agreed. I wouldn't bother with onboard video. First, it will severely limit your motherboard options (at least it did the last time I looked for one) and second, you'd have to deal with two separate driver installs and that smells of compatibility headaches to me. I'd get a dual head video card and call it a day.

It is also commonplace that when installing a new graphics card in your system, the onboard graphics auto-turns off anyway. Definitely go for a dual DVI card. Check out this one too

ASUS EN9600GSO/DI/512MD3/V2 GeForce 9600 GSO 512MB DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Cardits got DVI and VGA outputs i believe and possibly HDMI from the looks of things. You can use an adapter from VGA to DVI very cheap. Thought I'd recommend a cheaper option only $39.99 with rebate.

I second that notion. Here's my personal favorite:

HIS Radeon 4650 - Cheap, Dual-DVI and fanless.
