So I have a prebuilt, GPU has HDMI & DVI-D ports, it's a nvidia gt320, can I run 2 monitors off that with with say DVI-D to one monitor then a HDMI to VGA cable? (planning on getting a cheap 18.5" and it only has VGA outputs. EDIT:
nvm bout the vga to hdmi, seems i cant actually find an adapter for that, so it'd be DVI-D to HDMI & VGA to DVI-D. (DVI monitor to hdmi, VGA monitor to DVI.

Yes it will work, but why do you need 2 monitors?

Why not have 2 monitors? I have dual monitors and they came in handy when I was doing a lot of web work for my older brother - more room to work with.

Now, at some point, I plan on a third monitor and a second GTX 570 so I can game across 3 monitors.

I find myself making use of both monitors on a regular basis on just everyday use. I can stream Netflix on one (usually do that for my daughter to watch something) and on the other I can hop on the web or play a game (generally muted, so the daughter can hear her video playing). I also keep all the wife's desktop icons on the 2nd monitor while I keep the main monitor clean of icons. She loves to just drop something to the desktop and clutter it up - I prefer a clean look.

Both my monitors connect via DVI, so it's real simple to get them both up and running.

That makes sense but I thought TC was a gamer and wanted to game with the GT320 accross 2 monitors, if its for work though, it'll work.

PS. You gotta change your sig lol, it says you got 2 280's still.

Gaming on 2monitors is a flail, i'm not completely stupid. Only got a prebuilt because I had no idea on anything at the time, I know how to build and stuff now though hahah.
