For anyone interested in buying this game Steam already has it for pre-purchase plus a 10% discount.
Can't wait for release date, have been waiting this game for a decade lol.

But no bonuses as far as I know... Also do you know if it has Achievements? It doesn't say anything about it on the store page...For anyone interested in buying this game Steam already has it for pre-purchase plus a 10% discount.

Duke Nukem Forever is a Steamworks game, so Im assuming there will be bonuses and acheivements with the steam pre-order.
Done Preordered :P
This year has a good amount of games I seem to want to buy just for the principle, Im afraid I will have to wait with preordering DEus Ex:HR till next month.
At this point It can be really bad and I wouldnt care ^^ I just want mah Duke!
What is so good about this game? It seems people are buying it because of the name.

It seems that way because they are. Duke is the chairman of the board when it comes to video game icons.

Well mainly two things I guess.
1) Duke Nukem 3d were a landmark game for alot of us older gamers, the humor, the over the top silly just for the sake of making fun of action movies. It sounds alot like a throwback to the FPS games of old, before it became a liniar corridor from start to finish. So I guess alot of the people who remember DN3D, it is a callback for memories, and hopes for more of the same. Kind of like there is a crowd that Buy CoD Just for the CoD name or Rockstar games (two examples, of people buyingon pure faith alone).
2) DNF Were done, gone, dead, untill Gearbox picked it up, it is a huge gamble for them, it is not a gritty Modern soldier type game like what sells now, Partly due to the love for the Series, and a healthy respect for the people who worked on it for oh so long. It is a gamle, that will likely not pay off, but if enough people does buy DNF, there is a chance that this deadwater of the FPS genre will again be more diverse, so I preordered to show my support, and "Vote with my wallet" I hate that saying -.-

Its the new Duke game. What else is there?
Good gameplay, nice storytelling, great weapons, fun multiplayer, longevity, inovative things. And who is to say it won't have that stuff? Maybe not innovative things, but the game play videos I've watched looked fun as hell. The game looks like it will have crazy off the wall game play, awesome weapons, Duke's trademark humor, huge boss fights, and what I've read the mutli-player sounds like some old school fun.[QUOTE="AutoPilotOn"][QUOTE="-Unreal-"]

Good gameplay, nice storytelling, great weapons, fun multiplayer, longevity, inovative things. Duke has a story? And just look at the trailers, it looks like the most exciting game ever (includes the "inovative things", longevity won't be a problem since fans will always play their games, as for weapons, it's the Duke, if he doesn't have exciting weapons then who does.*Checks Steam price* $72?! lol get out of here! How generous, 10% off to take it down from $79. They could have given people who waited this long some concession. Thats a ridiculous price, considering from what I've read in previews about how dated some aspects of the game are (expected since its been in development for so long)

You know, there is the retail copy....which is installed using Steam anyways. Also, it's funny that out of every trailer I've seen for anything, there's only one where the F word is in the trailer text. And that trailer, my friends, is the big reveal from PAX East 2011.Too bad DNF is country restricted on D2D or I would have bought it there.
Oh wow, even GamersGate has a price of $90 for me. So much for flying under the radar like with some other Steam games.
nutcrackr
I normally purchase my games via Steam, but in the case of Duke Nukem I have splurged out a bit and pre-ordered the collectors edition :-
This is probably the one and ONLY time I will ever buy a collectors edition. Just this once and for this one game I don't mind breaking the piggy bank a bit. Plus there is the added bonus that the game is a steamworks title so I get all the benefits of steam as well.
Have to pre order this weekend..Now i no what to pre order..Was going to do it on another game..But been waiting for this..Im sure now skyrimm will also be on steam..Although that collectors addition does look good..Picked up the mortal kombat one its awesome hehe..
