Action RPG sequel Dungeon Siege 3 gets a beefy DLC expansion this October on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, publisher Square Enix has announced.

Expected to sell for $9.99, Treasures of the Sun will include a new plot arc and additional quests set in the new environment of Aranoi Desert. You'll be searching for a lost Legion hero and rifling through a "forgotten abbey" for a long-lost Azunite treasure.

The DLC also adds in various new abilities and raises the level cap from 30 to 35. There'll be new monsters to fight and items to pick up, and a new Enchanting system that lets players enhance their weapons and armour.

Finally, players will now have the ability to reallocate points spent in Proficiencies and Talents, enabling changes to character customisation throughout the campaign.

The Obsidian-developed title launched back in June, picking up a very respectable 8/10 from Eurogamer's Quintin Smith.

I know most of you didn't like DS3 or even bothered to try it, but for those who care, there is some new things on the way! Sounds pretty interesting to me, D3 wasnt the best game ever but I still had some fun in it (actually its wierd, I enjoyed it more then Torchlight hehe). Besides the horrid coop camera, it was pretty fun,

I had some fun with DS3 but not sure this DLC offers enough for me to pony up $10. We will see I guess...anyways is there any word on the release date?

If played cooperatively, what was the approximate length of the original game?

Renevent42, the press release says October.

I'll buy Dungeon Siege 3 this month. It's already selling cheap and I heard good things once I ignored the default Obsidian haters.

The price seems to be right, but I still think something like "respec" should be patched into the base game. I hate when developers make these utility options DLC-exclusive.

Dungeon Siege 3 is the most fun I had with an RPG in 2011 despite its few major problems (yes way more than Witcher 2 and everything else) I might get it day 1, it's a shame CO-OP is absolutely terrible because of the camera, can't stand how it works.

Thats my only real issue with DS3 is the camera for coop. After awhile its toleratable if you have a friend who knows how it works, but still if that camera was better I would not have really anything to complain about.

The only problems I personally have with it are Anjali's voice, they wanted to make some kind of unique voice for the godly archon but they ended with some terrible effects and the pathfinding especially the AI pathfinding and I just couldn't stand the multiplayer, after 2 hours I gave up, I managed to accomplish absolutely nothing, every radom players(s) (didn't have a friend to play it with) were either bad at the game or bad at getting how the camera works (come here, we need to destroy this, already did it, fast here, I was there, now here, come close to me, no the other side, etc), no idea how they even believed a fixed camera point for the entire party would work.

I wish you could buy the first two games seperately on Steam. Really dumb that they're still bundled. :x

I think that I'll finally try it when the new DLC comes out. Thanks for the input.
