If I were to buy a new computer, which would give me better performance, a 1.89 ghz duo processor. Or a 3+ ghz single processor?

The duo by far. However, duo is better for people that run a game, some media software and a virus scanner and have their comp work quickly. Single is probably better for running one game and maybe another app. Most single cores are Hyperthreaded, and HT Duos cost alot more. Quad is for people who want to run every application in the world at the same time, or run some sorta secret government whale frequency program. lol
