I plan to start pc gaming this summer and wanted to know of any disadvantages(like install limits) of mostly getting the DVDs of the games instead of digital. I will also join steam for digital games but I like to collect game cases. Even with physical copies these pc games are extremely cheap, at least old games on amazon. I like that.

I had the same problem as you.

I just loved to collect games and see them all pretty on my shelves you know? But PC Gaming ain't like that. PC Gaming gives you a little thing called Steam, with all your games at the distance of a click and for great prizes that put retail prizes to shame.

In nearly all cases, if a game is going to have install limits from the DVD, it is also going to have the same limits on a digital distributor.
