Ok i have a NEC nd-3550A optical drive and today it has stopped reading CERTAIN types of dvdies that he did read before i updated my firmware but to no avail HELP ME PLEASE!!! i just bought The Orange Box and i can't play :'(

He? That is funny. Anyways, just buy a new DVDIE drive, they are usually only $20 - $30.

The whole idea is trying to avoid buyin a new DVD-ROM but thanks anyway

I would suggest buying a new one... they cost like nothing now. If you don't want to do that you try disasembling the rom drive which should not be to hard. Once you get it open use a CAN OF AIR(or what ever) to clear out any dust in it.
