I am getting my new gaming rig today and I asked about liquid cooling and I appreciate all the help. My next question is DVI vs. VGA. I am getting a 19" widescreen gateway monitor HD. Whats the difference between the 2 since I have the choice how I want to hook it up.

DVI mate. DVI is Digital, VGA is analogue.

DVI won't give most LCD screens image tearing compare to VGA. Therefore, you won't have to use V-Sync which ruins many gameplays with it's frames limitation.

Definitely go with the DVI connection. An all-digital hookup improves the clarity of your monitor, especially with LCDs, plus it should support higher resolutions.

DVI's colors are a tad better and the image is a wee bit sharper.

Another vote for DVI here. LCD monitors need a converter plug to go VGA. Why bother?roulettethedog

Mine doesn't. Also, the person who said DVI will eliminate tearing without vsync, that is not true.Â
