No they wont be releasing then. Its when AMD reveals them to the public and sends the cards to sites to get reviewed. We as consumers wont get it till late early october. But yes one thing is true Nvidia better have something good because AMD is planning to release 5870 with 1600 sp, 5870x2 with 3200 sp and a 5780x3 with 4800sp(codename Trillium)

Yummy :P

It does say in the article that is will be shown this weekend at quakeCon and will be launched Sept. 10th before the launch of W7. I guess we will see... but yea maybe it is just for the review people.

It specifically says LAUNCH in that article, not release.

"The word is finally out. AMD will launch it's much anticipated next generation graphics processors code name "Evergreen" on September 10th; ahead of Windows 7's launch in late October..

For AMD, these40-nm, Microsoft DX11-compliant GPUs will fundamentally change the graphics industry and give it a clear advantage over Nvidia, again!"

It also said that Nvidia won't even show their cards until the end of September.

I believe AMD would launch the cards this early just to get the early market.

If they have a mid range card better than today's top cards similiar to how the 8800Gt changed things I will easily buy it on launch, but if it's as strong as a hd4890 I'll just add a second gpu to my rig.

Most likely their fisrt DX11 cards from both ATI and Nvidia will cost 200 and upwards since they usually release high end cards first while more affordable good performance/price value midrange cards come out 4-6 months later down the line

Nvidia's cards are expected for Nov/Dec, ATI will likely price them high with such a large jump on Nvidia.

This is really good news, personally iam going to wait for NVIDIA's next cards because i do a lot of folding but if you just game this will be a great time to maybe invest in a high end ATI graphics card.

i think they may. if it is rumoured to have 1600 sp (high end ) then mid range has to be 800 or 900 sp which in turn if its sold for a good price 120-150 it will be very hard for nvidia to compete with
