DX11- Issues with older games

I have just built my first gaming rig and I'm running DX11, I have SWTOR and it works great but I downloaded Crysis from steam and I have a copy of Battle for Middle earth 2 and neither game will run, opening Crysis just get a black screen and have to cntrl+alt_dlte to get out of it, BFME I get the opening pop up to show the application is running but it just sits and loads, can anyone offer any help?

definitely make sure oyu have the latest drivers, both for your chipset, but specially for your GPU.

for your chipset, go to the motherboard manufacturer website, or the system manufacturer if you bought a custom rmade rig. For your GPu go directly to either Nvidia or AMd website for the latest drivers.

Should have said, I have already updated all the drivers for my GPU and motherboard, Ive used 'trouble shoot compatability' for BFME, I cant fiddle with the settings in either game because I cant get that far into them, they just wont open.

if you cant even get into the games why in the world would you ever suspect Dx11??? this makes no sense these games dont run Dx11 they are too old it has nothing to do with it.

If your running Win7 try running as admin. R/click short cut. Compatibility. Run as admin. If that doesn't work try running it in xp from the same place.
