hey , i just did a mild overclock on my core 2 duo e6400 processor, using stock fan i got it from 2.1 to 2,4...my pny pc2 5300 rams are running at 700 mhz. now the question is...are my temperatures correct?

core temp shows

tjuction 100C

core 0  63c

core 1  65c   all this while idle and not sure what all this means

but nvidia monitor shows

52c idle and 64c at full load

which one should i believe? can my proc be OC anymore? or should i tone it down..i live in ecuador and its pretty hot down here so not sure if that has anything to do with this

im at 1200 fsb andf multiplier is still 8x, no changes on V.

im thinking about getting a zalman heatsink/fan 9700 series would taht drop my temp asnd let me OC a bit more? im kinda bummed cuz i see procs like mine going for 0ver 3.0 ghz and i looks i cant take it over 2.4

if you are going to overclock you need to get rid of that stock heatink and get a better cooler....those temps are too high for that small of an overclock you are gonna burn up your processor without better cooling

most people can use stock cooling because they have good cases with good flow and a few fans
