Continuing to ramp up the hype machine for Crysis 2, EA has posted a countdown on www.sosnewyork.com. The countdown will end at 12AM EST on April 10th. While we are uncertain as to what the countdown is leading up to exactly, it might have something to do with a recent tweet from EA POLSKA that stated a Crysis 2 video would be released on April 9th.

I guess we'll be seeing some gameplay footage soon! :P

Well it's definitely not the release date, although we can be hopeful about that. I would rush out and get that ASAP.

However, realistically it's probably a trailer and it's probably not even a PC trailer, pobably a 360 trailer.

Guess I'm the only person with a Crysis image that doesn't care about Crysis 2.

Countdowns... gotta love 'em! Also Crysis 2, I'm hoping there's some free running though. I love jumping on roofs and kicking butt :P

I don't have a Crysis 1 image, and I still don't care about Crysis. The PC is home to many great games and Crysis is not one of them... not even close.

I like Crysis as much as the next guy. But like before, I'll believe it when I see it.

Crysis was a cool game. But I hardly consider it "the best game evar".

To be perfectly honest, I'm readying myself for a disappointment. Warhead was a step in the wrong direction (much smaller, extremely contained environments) and from what I've seen and heard about Crysis 2 isn't helping either. Crytek was hyping glass windows breaking on a building as "destructible environments" in a CryEngine 3 demontration as if this is 2002. They also flat out confirmed that Crysis 2 faced "creative constraints" thanks to it being a multiplatform title. I don't think it'll be crap, it might still be a good game (I love urban warfare), but will it live up to Crysis' emergent gameplay? I doubt it. I expect much smaller environments, far less destruction/interaction, less enemies and most likely not-as-great AI.

Crysis was alright. Nothing spectacular though.

Funny, when Crysis 2 was announce all the people were like "ZOMFGBBQ" now they're disappointed because it didn't live up to their expectation because they clearly know everything about it even though there isn't even a real gameplay video.

Really? There's a lot more to their destruction engine than you say.

I am hyped. This is going to be awesome. Getting this on launch. Preorder confirmed. Along with a spanking new video card. Need to chose between ATI and Nvidia for the first time.
