Hey Im looking for a RPG to play and I would like to know if I should get Elder Scrolls IV or Fable, or wait for Jade Empire?
The qualities im looking for is mainly lasting time. Somthing I can play for a long time. Good Graphics but nothing too high tech
I only have a 2.8Ghz 1.5GB RAM geforce 6200 256mb AGP
Im leaning towards Elder Scrolls.

The best way I can  describe Elder Scrolls Oblivion is to call it crack. I couldn't stop playing ti for a long time after I purchased it. Your system will only run it on low with a few things turned up to high, but it'll run. I haven't played Fable or Jade Empire so I can't really comment on them, but Oblivion is one of my favorite games of all time now.
Based on your wants, ESIV is the obvious choice. Keep in mind, though, that most RPGs today allow you to complete them quickly if you so wish. If you're into subquests, and exploring everything, Oblivion will be the one that takes the most time. It also has a fantastic collection of custom mods that will add hours & hours of gaming enjoyment. Fable, while a fun game, is too short, although I played the Xbox version, so I don't know how much time has been added with the extra PC missions. Jade Empire would be my second choice because it takes longer than Fable, but IMO, Fable is a more enjoyable game. Jade Empire's combat system was too easy. I think I died maybe once in that entire game. LOL But I'm also someone who has played a lot of twitch console games like Devil May Cry and God of War so it might be more difficult for a forbidden>
I'd go with Morrowind....
The transition between Oblivion and Morrowind was not what I expected. Oblivion feels rather cumbersome, more then it should considering it's a fairly new game still, compared to how Morrowind feels. Perhaps that's just my personal opinion, but I'm sticking to it.
I've played Fable on Xbox, it wasn't too bad. A bit short, though, the PC version is longer so it might prove to be worth it. As for Jade Empire, I never played that one so I can't comment about it.
Fable would be my choice over Oblivion, but that's only because I didn't care much for Oblivion when I compare it to Morrowind.
Jade Empire didn't impress me on the XBox and i doubt it will on the PC. In all honesty i don't think bioware have really made a truelly brilliant RPG since Baldurs Gate: Throne Of Bhaal. Anyway Oblivion is a great game if your computer can handle it on near high settings. Full of thigns todo, character customizations and a huge, beautiful world to explore.
Fable is just abit...welll...meh....its a lionhead game, and like all lionhead games lately it is far to staty to be an absorbing RPG.
yea, im going toward Oblivion but what is morrowwind like? Does it have the same length and does it have the day to day feel. ( like when its night villagers will go to sleep etc. 0Goldeneye0Morrowind obviously won't be as well scripted with it's AI considering how much older the game is....the NPCs in Morrowind don't really follow any set schedule. It's been a while since I've played Morrowind and I don't recall any NPCs heading to bed, I'm sure they is some, but I just can't recall at the moment. Morrowind just feels more like a first person RPG...plus there are two expansion for Morrowind that tie into the regular game very well. If you do happen to get Morrowind, pick up the Game of the Year edition: it comes with all three. Also, there are so many good and intersting MODs you can install, you will get lost in Morrowind for a very long time.
Eh... with a 6200 you're going to have a very hard time playing Elder Scrolls, Fable, or Jade Empire. I'd deffinately do what someone here said before and check out Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. (IMO it has Oblivion beat, except in a couple areas, mainly graphics) Morrowind is probably conceptially one of the greatest games ever released.Rangent
No he won't. I've seen ES4 run on systems worse than his. Not at full specs, but its playable. Fable & JE were designed for a console first. He'll definitely have no problems with them.Â
Oblivion is one of my favourite games of all time but as suggested previously a Geforce 6200 graphics card is going to have problems running it unless you drop the resolution and other graphics options down to a minimum.zeus_gb
Google Oldblivion. Its a little mod that helps older machines to play Oblivion. I remember reading a post some where from a person who had a 6200 running the game. Not sure how well it ran but the guy played it so that is something. He said it would not run until he got Oldblivion. I have no experience with it. I do recommend the game. I do suggest researching the mods for Oblivion before playing. There are few essential mods that make the game more fun and accessible.

Oldblivion really, really kills the look of the game though. I think with the OP's system specs, after some .ini tweaks and dropping the settings, he should be able to get a playable framerate. All of these games have their strengths. If you want a pure fun RPG that you know you will not get bored with before you finish, then choose Fable. I know many people that have stacks of games these never complete. If you are a person that typically doesn't finish all games then it's very unlikely Oblivian is the best choice. Fable is certainly a bit short but it also is very playable. if you have an Xbox with a decent size TV then that maybe the way to go.Â
Morrowind is great game and I played it well over 100 hours but I definitely miss the dialog and voice work that is in Oblivian. Jade Empire I enjoyed most of the way through but for some reason I never developed attachement to the character like in the other two.
If money is tight and you want something to play for a long time and you are the type of gamer that doesn't get bored with a game quickly then Oblivian or Morrowind will both do you right. PC specs however come into play with Oblivian as others have eluded to.
If you're not so much concerned with cash I would certainly give Fable a spin as it's not too long and can be quite fun. It does have some replability as the character can morph into extremes of evil and good based on how you play. Downside is that it is excessively linear although IMO it's not something you want to miss as it's just cool how the town and everyone that 'knows you' comments on your actions, your reputation, and if you're a bad guy they will scramble away in fear. Another aspect is the 'boasts' that allow you to do quests with goals that can be very difficult. As in bragging to the town you will fight the 'monster' naked or bare handed.Â
I'm the type that likes to have variety so I find something to like in all these games and have played them all extensively. Good luck and most of all have fun!!!

I am also playing through Oblivion and I love it its absolutely fantastic - much better than fable. Whilst i do get the occasional(and it is occasional for me) frame rate problem. If you dont mmind playing in 800x600 and low to medium settings like i do its fine
