I'm not gonna lie, the steam sale on this title is kinda tempting but as the title implies I've never player a TW game (I know shame on me...) so I'd like to know how accessible are these games for someone completely new to the series?

Should I give this a miss and save my money?

TiA.

I think you should go for it, if you have any interest in RTS then it'll be well worth it considering you are getting 2 games and all of their DLC for only $10.

I would say Shogun 2 is slightly more accessible, but Medieval 2 is probably my favorite and most fun to play. I found Empire slightly overwhelming when it was released and I feel that I'm a TW veteran, starting with Rome: Total War. It all comes down to a matter of choice, do you want to see people shoot at each other, or fight in melee combat? I chose the latter so Empire wasn't really appealing for me.

I found the medieval games much more fun, perhaps because they were easy tactics wise etc. Still I would buy those games because of the savings and play them later.

If your ok with "meh" graphics go with Rome Total War. It's the best in the whole series IMO
