i played the first empire earth and was shocked by its awesome terribleness. did anyone actually enjoy this game enought to make a thrid?

I liked it... lot of people did. Plus they're saying 3rd is completely different so technically even if you didn't like the 1st two, you can still like the 3rd.

I haven't played the series yet, although I intend to...but the gamespot reviews of 1 and 2 are both good.  Numerous player reviews seem to give it slightly better reviews which in my experience (on the whole) has panned out to be a valid tool for estimating what I will think of the game.  That may work for you too...dunno.   Additionally, judging a game by its predecessors is all fine and dandy, but not foolproof as game franchises can reinvent themselves or simply improve with the passage time.

I loved the first, hated the second, but I did not think there would be a third. Who would, EA had EE in it's hands. I as sure hoping it makes the cut. I am concern right know that it looks to cartoonish. If it makes it we will have another game beside C&C3.

I enjoyed the first one more then the second, but no.3 is looking good.
