I presume you know that this is a Steam game and it automatically updates, right?

And of course you wouldn't look there, why would you, it would show how wrong you are (most threads are CTD, they can't even play the game, I at least can play a few minutes).

I'll try again with the darth mod the next time I install it, but that's mostly for AI, it won't do much to the game.

Nah, I stick to tw-center. Quality of posters generally seems higher. E:TW had more active players than N:TW a few days ago, on Steam. So clearly a lot of people are still enjoying the game. Not saying it'll ever be perfected, but now most CTD's comes down to user error, rather than the actual game. Be it drivers or otherwise. "Most people can't even play the game" is bull.

I believe you are wrong in that. I don't know if it's an extremely common error or not, but I've tried 3 different long grand campaigns on two different windows installations and after about 30 years theres always one unit that doesn't move correctly after I end my turn, and then the next turn they try to finish the move I issued earlier or I manually try to move it again and then the game crashes. When it enters this movement loop, there is no way to stop it and you'd just better hope you have a save a few turns ago before you initially issued the move command. It's pretty petty to jump straight to insulting someone's knowledge or ability just because some of you guys aren't having any problems yourselves. Before you essentially jump down someone's throat, maybe you should question your logic.

[QUOTE="ducati101"][QUOTE="DigiTM73"] Its got nothing to do with star wars! The modders name is Vader, hence why the mod is called darthmod. Just the menu is like that, there is no star wars units!

It's just a menu thing, and only with the ultimate commander which has tons of mods packaged with it. DMUC crashed on me so I got the normal version and it doesn't even have a special menu or anything you just load up the game and play.

If you're complaining about AI just download Darthmod problem solved.

Does nothing to fix the broken strategic AI so what's the point of playing if winning the campaign map is assured?

Darthmod does fix the strategic AI. Sea invasions, and more aggressive moves on the campaign map are included and make the AI much much better. VH/VH using Darthmod is the only way to go.

It modifies them, but it doesn't fix them. Your allies still refuse to conduct trades that are in their best interests. Enemies wander about the countryside with no apparant focus. They prefer conductign raids on your farms to trying to take your cities. When they do decide to attack a city, they inevitibly do so with insufficient force. Further, they never, ever follow up their initial attack with a second or third wave. Finally, they seem incapable of conducting a reasonable defence. They refuse to garrison their core cities even when under obvious threat.

We must be playing a different game then. Because when i use Darthmod the game changes drastically from the vanilla one.

I was just looking at the Darthmod. I can't understand how this is good if it puts Star Wars into a historical game? What's with the menu?

that would be interesting lol, the british vs wookies would be amazing.

I believe a team of modders are working on something like that lol. Hopefully it will be as epic as Third Age for MTW2

Are you sure this is with darthmod? Whenever the enemy has a clear advantage they attack my cities. Also, attacking farms is an excellent way to hamper someones economy by stopping output and forcing the player to spend money to repair the settlements.

In my last campaign I had a few turns left to conquer some indian regions for world domination and as soon as I landed my swedish forces (equal in number, superior in quality) the marathans withdrew all their troops to their cities. Again I feel the need to ask are you sure darthmod was working for you?

 My mistake. I have gone to the official site of Darthmod and this looks great. Just can't figure if I should put up with the menu with Darth Vader (even though it's cool it doesn't suit the game) and use Ultimate, or stick with the DM Empire Edition.
I have a i7 with 5970 so either should run ok.
Will I get a better experience with the ultimate with all those extras?

Pretty much yes. The extras include things like blood and smoke mod, which as the name suggests enhances battlefield smoke and blood. There various other fixes too. Btw if you dont like the menu there is a way to not use it, not sure exactly how but the forums should point you in the right direction.
