If you have a non T&L card, which you do, then you need these spex to run the game. But its gonn abe running super poor and it will also use up System Memory to run the game.
There is absolutely no way to add a video card to a laptop. I'm not sure where the person above me got the idea that you could, but that's flat out wrong. You are stuck with what it comes with, whether that be integrated video or a video card that's basically soldered onto the motherboard.
Intel Extreme Graphics is pretty awful for gaming. You might be able to run older or less intensive games, like Warcraft 3. It's pretty much the equivalent of a pre-2002 or 2001 card with no T&L.
ive installed a vga on a desktop, its just that laptops are so tiny and wonder how a vga connects to one, and i mean wont it get really hot bcuz it only has two air flow ports.

edit: o so thnx for the info on vga installation ___monkeyÂ

monkey is right and your also right ninja, 99% of laptops have the GPU soldered onto the mobo, meaning no exapansion but theres are some laptop than you can have exapandable graphics cards, Alienware did this a few years ago with exapanable gpu laptops but they stopped because really its not worth it, laptops are really not worth it to a manufacturer because really how many people game on laptops....and how many would know how to change gpu (which on a laptop is not as easy as on desktop). That external card is pretty friggin' cool. Just looked at a few previews. My laptop really isn't that bad other than the integrated video. I might have to pick one of those up for when I'm on the go. cmdrmonkey
yep its a cool concept. Infact Ageia has said they are looking into doing a External PhysX card too. With ASUS doing this, they are also making a 3.5" floppy drive version. It will be able to overclock you GPU and do everything the External GPU version has. That will be looking to a 2nd half of this year launch.
What games can an Intel Extreme Graphics chip play? Can it play sims2? I am thinking of buying sims 2 and any other game it can handle and do graphic cards fit in a laptop? if so how, im more of a desktop guy. and how do you tell if it has a pci or pci-e? does anyone know a site with a tut to install a vga on a laptop? and are there any type of special vga you have to buy or can you put in any vga in it?Link2legends
