A bit higher than I expected, but still sounds about right. Besides, was there any chance that Valve wouldn't deliver? They're horrible with release dates and make us wait for extremely long periods of time, but in the end, it's always worth it. I predict a 9.0 from GameSpot.
By the way, if you could perhaps provide some further pros and cons they listed, it would be very much appreciated.
I think u guys are foolish for buying the episodes.
it reminds me of wow and all the expansions they have planned.
i suggest u wait to buy the episodes till they have made them all.
just trying to save u guys money...

I really dont feel like waiting another year for them to release the episode in one huge bundle. I got money to spend so why not buy it when its hot and fresh. I mean you could always get episode 3 on steam easily.

I haven't yet played Episode One so The Orange Box is an amazingly good deal for me - four new games for the price of one. Three of which are very different from one another. You can't beat that. Besides, Episode Three probably won't be out for another two years...I just can't wait that long.

My original plan was to wait for the orange box to play both of the episodes, but after Episode 1 went on sale, I couldn't resist. Oh, and by the way, I don't consider spending $44 for the continuation to one of my favorite game series, along with Portal and Team Fortress 2, foolish :|Bah..its not fun to look forward to Gamespot's reviews anymore. Because they take longer then everyone else we all know its either gonna be 9 or 9.5.
PLEAAASE CHANGE IT BAAACK. Oh and Valve rocks.

I see what you mean. Now, all good games get a 9.0 no matter what, and all uber new awesome games that add something new or pull of Crysis like graphics on a Geforce 4 get a 9.5
8.5 areforexpansions.
Seriously, its no longer a grading scale now...
Ah well, the review is what matters most.
how could they expect it to answer all the questions when it's the second part of a 3 parter? Seems like a moot point.nutcrackr
what they mean is is instead of answering some of the q's they add more to the mix, which is cool on one hand, but having so much for part3 will mean its full of answers, good for buisness but painful for the wait.

Im trying to remember the pros and cons, i remember the cons only on small thingss, and then only like 2, where as the pros were like, "Continues the great story while adding alot."
Somewhat spoiler, is that ep3 will again be on a very different locale, and while it was a short pic it really makes me excited for 3, oh and they said that a full third of Portal will take place on the last "Mission" alone. and the battles in Ep2 are very large, in area.

hahah okay enjoy waiting then...thats around 5yrs of waiting to play a series? You going to wait years and yeasr to play WoW? That makes no sense either. Just starts you crazy behind everyone. I guess you should never watch the movies until the full series is out. That would have made people for Star Wars wait 30yrs :D

That's a funny one. Not all "good" games just get 9.0's anymore. It seems that only OMGWTFBBQ games even have a chance at getting a 9.0 nowadays (Bioshock anyone?) (or perhaps Metroid's 8.5?). Unless they give huge props to this compilation because of the price alone ($50 for 5 games vs. $130 if you buy them seperately) I only see it getting an 8.0-8.5.
Oh, and if you can get your hands on a copy of the mag to write out the pros and cons, that would be freaking awesome. Is that issue on newstands yet? or do subscribers only have it?

Probably one year as it won't be developed alongside other games such as TF2 and Portal and it wouldn't require any major Source engine tweaks like what Valve did with Episode Two.
