~3.1Ghz phenom II/Athon II Dualcores, Athlon x3 ~2.8Ghz. ~2.4Ghz i3 without hyperthreading. other core 2 as the E4700, E8300... ... A phenom (the oldest one) x4 ~2Ghz. Why are you asking, does the question really involve how much better your CPU became when you OC'ed it?

The e7300 would be the most similar under the C2D brand.

I just wanted to compare them at the can u run it site, if i can run a particular game, cause most of the game's minimum requirements that come out today are on a core 2 duo cpu. and thanks for the info at least i'll have an idea of comparison.

The e5500 IS a Core 2 Duo, just with less cache. You'll be able to run almost anything that recommends a C2D

Thanks gmaster456, now it's clear that it is almost on par with a core2duo.

Pentium dual core actually has superior clock for clock speed than the 65nm core 2 duo CPU's. They just have less cache which means they are not better than those core 2's but neither are they inferior.

I must say though intel couldnt have got it worse with the name of the product, the pentium D also stands for dual core but the difference between pentium dual core and pentium D is beyond generations.

In that PC the CPU isn't the biggest problem anyway, the HD4650 is not that fast of a card. I have no qlue about what those games are but you should play most more demanding games fine on a low - medium settings, "raccoon city" sounds like it could run on a fast mobilephone. :P
