So I bought Oblivion Horse Armor. I wrote down my code. I saved the horse armor setup to my desktop. I start the setup. I go through the windows to get to the part where I put in my code and activate the horse armor so I can download it. After entering the full and correct code and clicking 'Next', it just freezes up, nothing happens after that, and sure enough, I get a nice little '(Not Responding)' in the window and close it. I dont know what to do. I've downloaded a lot of other user made mods, but I dont know how that would be affecting internet activation.

Please Help.

Is this on Vista? because those packs won't work.

They also don't work sometimes on XP too.... but get this, all the packs included on the 'Nights of the Nine' disc work on Vista/XP fine.

What I did was a bought the horse armor pack from the oblivion site, then downloaded the nights of the nine disc (wink) and used the file on that to install it.

I have Oblivion Game of the Year edition which includes Knights of the Nine, but it doesnt have all of the downloadable content I dont think. I checked and when I talk to the orc at Chestnut Stables, there is no option to get horse armor. I think its not included with the Knights of the Nine on the GOTY disk. The Activation wont work basically. I dont know what to do. Should I buy a seperate copy of Knights of the Nine that includes the DLC content? Or would that conflict with the Knights of the Nine I have installed already from the GOTY edition? Or maybe there is a seperate option to install the DLC content?...

Excuse me for asking, but made you decide to pay actual money on a piece of armour for your horse in a videogame, which no one else will be able to see? If Oblivion was an MMO I'd half-understand, but it isnt.

WOW you actually bought that? It's because of people like you that gaming companies can get away with stupid crap like that they love to pull off nowadays.

What exactly are they getting away with? They offered additional content for one of their products...some people saw value in it...and they bought it. People who didn't see value in it didn't. I fail to see any problem with this.

Well enlighten me..what would YOU get out of it? Im ok with paying reasonable amounts for some DLC content that enhance the gameplay, but this doesnt do anything...your horse just looks different, doesnt even go faster....nothing. Sorry but I just find it bizarre that people would pay real money for these kind of things, I mean fair play to Bethesda for managing to make money out of stupid little things like this.

I agree; I even thought this was a joke post when I read the title.

Horse armour gives your horse protection from attacks.

Is that not a good enough reason for someone to want it?

No, enjoying it for yourself is not enough, nor is it the point. It has to be online. Other random internet people need to see it so that you can grow your e-peen, improve your confidence and self-worth, and get the e-ladies. hama666 knows what I'm talkin' bout.

Why are we debating this? Some people find it stupid that people purchase the newest Madden every year, but millions do. Some people find enjoyment in horse armor, other people think it's dumb. Instead of sharing your opinions about it (which we don't care to hear anyways), go enjoy what you enjoy and leave this man alone.

The secured downloader app from the Oblivion Store does not work on Vista with its security/activation (I know this from experience). It doesn't matter what version Oblivion is patched to - its just something with the way the executable is coded... of course they don't tell you that on the checkout page (I tried getting Spell Tomes there and it wouldn't work - so I got the Knights of the Nine DLC Pack from D2D which included everything for 10.00.

Nice try. Im not big on MMO microtransactions either but it makes more sense to show off your e-peen than it does to show off yourself in...erm a singleplayer game? I dont endorse either just you know.

Whenever I activated any of the DLC from Beth Oblivion, the same problem occured to me as well. (im in XP)

Here's how to solve the issue:

1) Press Alt+Ctrl+Del and get to the Task Manager.

2) Click on Processes Tab

3) Find Ctxmon.exe and Delete this

4) Now, run the installation again. Solves your problem.
