I finally got my new computer. I trying to install half-life 2, and I got to the 4 disk, and it said error 1305 error reading the files. any suggestions to make it work?

Sounds like the disc is bad. just use your reg key in steam and download the files from steam thats about the only option or take the box version back but they might not take it since you tie the key into a steam account

Bad disk. At least you have your CD key, you can download all of the Half-Life games through steam instead. It takes a bit longer, but it is better than having to rebuy the game.

you got most of the game installed already. the rest of the 20-30% can be downloaded from steam. it happened with mine as well, and i had no problems resuming download from steam.
