Hey all! is anyone else enjoying QW as much as I am? This game is outrageously fun! If anyone was turned away by the demo or beta......it's alot better! I was originally turned away too! bblundell
The demo ran absolute crap on my average rig with the graphical settings set to what I expect my PC is capable of running.....so I won't be touching it unless I pay up for a new rig that game doesn't mind running on.
Anyways, one thing I'm curious about is voice-chat, did they ever implement it yet? It looked to be one of the most glaring flaws in the game considering it's team orientated, and that all other popular team-based titles have it built-in already.
it's like bf2 but worse. it seriously is the same game we all played 2 years ago remade with different models and maps, and runs poorlyncderek
Sorry about your luck because the game runs flawless for me. It also looks pretty nice to boot.
The only quirk that bothers me and its the same complaint with many other is the fact there is no in-game VOIP.
I can't get enough of this game, I only wish the aircraft was a little easier to control but I'm starting to get the hang of it.
I can't understand anyone that says the graphics are dated, have you played it on full settings? It looks stunning. Granted it doesn't look as good as Crysis or UT3 but to say it looks dated because it's not as good as 2 games on the market is a little short sighted. Look how many games out there it looks far better than...
Have fun.
i pre ordered the collector's edition, but after i tried the beta i canceled my pre order. i just didn't like it. i don't know what it was cos i like both Battlefields and Unreal Tournaments and this game was kinda mix of them both, but it just didn't play the way i was hoping.
i did try the final demo too, and it wasn't any better than the beta.

Saying that it is like BF2 is very wrong. Quake Wars looks absolutely nothing like Battlefield 2. Saying that it does just shows that you have done no effort to understand the gameplay of the game.

I think it'sa lot like BF2. Apart from it's not as good. - not as polished - not as good looking - not asfun - not as immersive.

Quake wars:
BF2:
and not only does Quake Wars look better than BF2. BF2 is horribly polished it has been 2 years since it's release and it's still plagued with technical issues. Quake Wars may not be immersive or fun to you, but for people who actually try to learn the game. It's much more fun and immersive.
Battlefield 2 was a hit and miss. Sure it sold a lot, but the ranking system is what held this game back and what perhaps is keeping it alive.

QW is nothing impressive graphically. It should have been free like wolfenstien.
Quake Wars is amazing good. The graphics are good, not exceptional but guarantees a fluid gameplay in a lot of game systems; the game has classes and they are asymetrical in a lot of ways, and the balance between the infantry and vehicles is much better than in the BF2 (BF2 is my most played mp, but usually I only play in "Infantry Only" servers, because I'm tired about lamechopters and imbafighters (in DICE don't ever have been hearing about Stingers? ). Also, the assault rifles are very accurate at 200 mts, like in the real world, not like in BF2 ( even in single shot and proned some rifles like the F2000 are horrible ).
Probably I'll pass the next year playing mainly the mp of Quake Wars, Crysis and Hellgate; UT III has nice graphics but seems a clone of UT 2004 in graphic steroids. COD 4 could be a good option, also.
Quake Wars has received some meh reviews because the game requires skill and brain at the same grade, but if you judge moodthe gameplay you can se that is one of the mos sophisticated an complex shooters ever created. Makes the fps in consoles and a lot of the PC ones to seem dated and arcaic.
