Based on features, scale, gameplay, story, everything. Take your pick.

One note. E:TW will have an online campaign, the beta for it comes out this month.

I havnt played enough of Empire Total War yet to say which i enjoy more.

Before both games where out i thought i was goign to enjoy Empire Total War ALOT more then Dawn OF War2. But the Dawn Of War2 singleplayer/coop campaign is awesome and so much fun! Im not HUGE on strategy games online in versus mode, but its fun aswell.

End of the weekend i should have reviews for both games done!

So far though Dawn Of War 2 = 9/10

Only played 1 hour of Rome Total War but it looks to be a 9 or 9.5/10 so far aswell (ill have a final score once i get more time with it).

Both two amazing games imo! And the two best games this year so far! (Yes i got Killzone 2 and Dawn Of War2 and Empire Total War i enjoy more).

I haven't played Total War so i'm going to say Dawn of War 2.

I know it's biased.

Don't vote in the poll if you haven't played both. Come on people what are we, 6?

I haven't played enough of Empire yet to make a fully informed decision, but so far on terms of sheer and utter fun I have to go with DoW2. The campaign is one of the best single player strategy campaigns I've played in a long time, mixing strategy with action and a RPG system of a sort, really fun. Graphics are beautiful, animations are fluids and the gore is fantastic! On sheer scale and complexity it has to be Empire - as a pure complex strategy game it is the apex of what any other game of its kind should aim for. Brilliant battles where your tech research and decisions play a major role, and the fact the campaign map is involved enough that you could play it and just auto-resolve battles and it would still deliver a deep enough experience. I don't think you can have a showdown between the two for the fact that they are both totally different kinds of strategy games. If I was forced to choose between the two I wouldn't be able to, they both offer so much that is different. Man its good to be a PC gamer right now :)

Empire Total war is better imo, because dow they took the game play in a direction that i don't think suites it. and that made me a sad sad panda because i loved the previous dow games.

man Relic managed to screw up DoW2 pretty bad. The game's got terrible balance, there's like 7 maps in total, and the online matchmaking blows. Empire gets my vote.

Well at least half, probably more of E:TW is turn based strategy, not RTS. I prefer DoW2, but I'm not sure it can be characterized as a pure RTS. My vote goes to Supreme Commander :).

I don't know, I got E:Tw through some "funny sources" today since I couldn't wait to the 10th (getting money that day) to buy the game (I will still buy the game the first chance I get so don't flame me, i am just impatient -.-)

the thing is I am just not feeling it. It's missing something, maybe I am just to spoiled by the fast brutal microintensive combat DoW2 delivers, but E:TW just didn't invoke the "zomg amazing" like all TW games before did...

something is missing and I can't realy describe it. Well maybe I am just not in the mood for the slow combat E:TW presents, will try playing some more maybe it will click, I hope it will

oh and the cover system in E:TW feels like a thing thrown into the game in the last minute, kinda not fully fleeshed out and subpar compared to CoH or DoW2 cover system

ETW is rocking pretty hard. I already stopped playing DoW2 because I didnt really care for it which is crazy considering I loved the older one. The battles in ETW are just freaking epic. The numbers, the reloading and being slaughtered, so ******* awesome man. Then you have to deal with the overmap and diplomacy and stuff. So far it crushes DoW2 in depth and strategy/tactics.

Haven't got Empire yet, I'll probably like it more though. Dawn of War II needs that DLC, fast.

Though, Dawn of War II is the better "RTS". At least, it's more of an RTS than Empire.

I loved Shogun and theold Medieval but could never get into the newer Total War games. Empire seems to have completly changed that, been playing it all day.

Poll is a landslide. Those of you new to Empire, wait till you see the rocket troops in action. Amazing visuals.

E:TW for me. I thought DoW2 was great for the first half of the campaign, then it really started to drop off. Playing the maps again and again and no diversity in the missions. You start in a corner and go to the opposite corner and fight a level boss.

I thought DoW2 was ok, and I like they they are trying something new and fresh, but E:TW is so far shaping up to be the best TW game yet so far (for me), even beating out the old TW:M1 (my old favorite).

Where's the option for NONE? They are COMPLETELY 2 DIFFERENT GAMES....the only thing in common is RTS in their subtitle....

I like Dow2 cause the action is more intense, and it has something that makes you play and play...I have only played Empire for 2 hours but I was a bit like "meh" , so far I will stick to Dow2

Where's the competition?!

DOW2 is good, but Empire blows it out of the water completely.

From being over at a friends house and watching him play and trying the demo, I find that Empire Total War is better by a significant margin.
