There is a bit of a drought at the moment :P If you need games to play, investigate games you missed last year worth playing. Pay particular attention to games with performance/bug issues, as these have most likely been resolved by now. They also cost much less :P
I will be playing S.T.A.L.K.E.R I tried to play it when it was originally out, and couldn't due to performance issues, yet enjoyed what I did play. I've had a major upgrade to my comp now (Q6600 8800GT) so it'll run fine now. It's available for $20 now over Steam! Many bargains to be had just like this.
Has anyone else noticed this? i think its a market stratedgy, making pc gamers more viable to buy whats already out to increase sells for previously released games in Q3&Q4 07'.middito
It make sense for publishers to do this. Why would they be willing to flood the market with games at the same time and expect it to surpass one million sales?
It doesnt really surprise or bother me much atm. I only played throught the first couple missions so far in COD 4, which i got from Santa. I bought the orange box when it came out and still havent finished the Half Life eps. 2 game(sacrelige i know). And just last week i bought the witcher and am now just halfway through the second chapter........In addition, i picked up Farcry for 10.00 and havent played through that, havent finished Company of Heroes that came with my video card, bought Prey for 5.00 and havent opened it, so i think im set for a little while.......the Witcher game is top on the list right now, then maybe some more TF2 once the new content is released , with such a good 4th quarter last year i cant keep up, unless all you do is play video games then i dont know why anyone as a shortage but then i guess a life and work must be getting in the way of my gaming experience.....

Are there ever any good games released in the couple of months following Christmas?
I can't think of any amazing games that launched in January or February. I think FarCry launched in March 2004...
D9-THC
Resident Evil 4 luanched in January 2005 on the GC. Not PC, I know, but an awesome game indeed.
That's funny, because there's only one game on my list of Q1 games worth playing and it's coming out in eight days.
Sins of a Solar Empire. Oh yeah, baby. I can feel it now. I can feel it. Ohhhhhhh....
mfsa
I'd never heard of this one, fired up 'Official Movie 1' and opening line is 'Hi, my name is x, I was the lead designer on Gal Civ'. Sudden interest in this game has developed :P

Yeah! Yeah!!! They're calling it a RT4X - 4X TBS-style gameplay like Galactic Civilizations II, but it's all in real time like Homeworld. I am gonna need a bib while I play. Too much drool.
Nevermind, the PC version of DMC4 is april so I guess we'll just have to content ourselves with Sins.Uberbadassmufuh
From what I've seen of Sins, there is gonna be a LOT of playing to do, I mean, some battles can actually last ONE MONTH. (of course, you can save in game but the estimated time of "average playing per day" adding it all up would take a MONTH of playing.)
