Everything needed to build pc?

I've decided to get a new computer, and want to try building it (for cost reasons mostly). I need alot of help tho, so first off what are all the parts I need for my computer? and for the parts what do u personally advice for cost vs performance.(i mean in the computer if theirs any confusion, like ram, video card, cpu, cooling and even a good case)

Basic parts include:

Case

Power Supply

Motherboard

Processor

Video Card

RAM

HDD

CD/DVD-ROM/Burner

Optional components if you already own them:

Speakers

Monitor

Keyboard/Mouse

And of course, there are accessories, usb devices, etc.
