I'm getting a new vid-card very soon and I've been looking around at brands on newegg.   I've always used PNY or ATI in the past.  I'm also considering BFG, but am weary of the OC with reliability.  I've seen a lot of EVGA cards and they seem to be pretty prevalent.  That a decent brand?

I'm looking at a 7600GS AGP. $100 for the EVGA, $150 for PNY, $180 for BFG.   I just need a new card to play Company of Heroes until I do a major overhaul in a year with a dual-core chip, new mobo, and PCI-E card.

eVGA is one of the best brands for Nvidia cards by many accounts. I would say stick to them or XFX if brand reputation is important to you. Go with the cheapest from a half-way respectable brand which in your case looks to be eVGA.

I personally like eVGA's upgrade and replace feature. I think its a 90 day period in which you can turn in your old card to get a newer one.

This is correct, and eVGA is undoubtedly one of the best company's to buy from when it comes to Mobo's and Vid Card's, Hands down, they have some of the best customer service and great plans for shipping along with awesome products.

eVGA, BFG, XFX, OCZ, Gainward (Euro mainly) are the tops. Followed by Leadtek, PNY, Sparkle and then followed by companies like Galaxy

I don't quite consider OCZ to be top for Nvidia GPUs. Yes they may have came back, nothing too spectacular they have done however. Back on topic, BFG is fairly good. If OCing is important to you, head with EVGA and XFX. Leadtek is also a long time Nvidia supplier and their products have all been solid.

have you read the reviews on there cards? There getting nothing but great reviews, just like they did with the Titan, the last card they made 5 generations ago. They were a top nVidia maker then. There card has not been recalled, they run good, no heating issues, come overclocked or not overclocked. They will be a top 5 and are here to stay too IMO.

If you want to pick a negative out, its the fact that they only done the 8800gtx, which there pricing is on par and well, i guess the Corette card on the HSF isnt too great, but meh.  My setups are all regular ATX, so that doesnt really bother me.

I've used XFX before, and may again for the 8800. But I'm also considering BFG. I've never used eVGA, and none of my friends either, but if you guys say it's good, I'll have a look at them also.

I've owned my eVGA 7950GT for close to five months now and it's been 100% solid.

Purchased my 1st eVGA card 7 months ago, a 7900GTX 512, runs great and no problems. If there were, eVga has a life-time warrenty and very good customer service to help you solve any issues. You can get more info from their forums at their website.

evga offers lifetime warranty and the Step-up program where you pay the difference of a new card you want to step up to with the original retail cost of your old card, makes excellent overclocked cards and their custom cooler dubbed the ACS3 is quite cool. BFG Tech makes awesome nvidia cards, very reliable and have a lifetime warranty as well. xfx have killer overclocked cards, and have a double-lifetime warranty that crosses over to the next owner if you ever wanted to sell your card.

XFX, EVGA, BFG are somewhat cowards IMO. EVGA put a massive heatsink on their ACS3 cards and the results were unimpressive. IMO, with such experience, atleast try some like what Sparkle Calibre did with the 8800 series.

yep I commend them for that, breaking away from the mold and making something radically different. its not bad either, only a few added watts with the extra power connector needed for the custom cooler, and that's like a 20C drop right there and even cuts down on the weight, tres bien. but there's nothing wrong playing safe right? those three give out quality products nonetheless, and their warranties are a big plus right there, at least if you live in the states. i don't have a problem with the acs3 coolers, though I gotta admit i could have easily bought a stock 8800 gtx and oc'ed or flashed the acs3 bios on it, but there prices here make it a non-issue i guess.

oh and the water-cooled bgftech, asus and evga 8800 gtx's look yummy, I might look into those, or that new thermalright cooler for the 8800's, nice too.
