Well what's your current card? Also for $100 you could get an awesome card.

If your on a super strict budget than go for the 9500 GT. It's a little on the weak side by todays standards, but you'll still be able to play most games on low, and sometimes medium, settings. But if you really wanna do some gaming, the GPU is what you've gotta invest in, so if you post your budget, we can try and find something a little better for what you wanna play, that won't break the bank.

You can probably find a 4670 for a bit more.

The 9500 GT wasnt built for gaming in mind. You would be able to play most games, however you'll have to settle with mostly low settings for a decent framerate. If you're ok with that then by all means get the card. However for $20-$30 more you could get yourself a card that is literally two times better and would bump you up to playing games on mostly medium settings.

Terrible card! Avoid this card if your thinking of playing a game! Essentially, the 9500gt is a rehash of the 8600gt, a lame card. The 9600GT is considerably better, but still an old generation of card, so you should look at 4670 or better! Ideally, a 4850 or better though.

Well... I think at that point anything and everything is an upgrade :P. I would push for a 9600, 8800 9800 any of those would be quite a bit better. ATI of course also has good cards too, if you can get the money (its only 40-50$ more) a 4850 is a great card as well.
