Hiya folks!

So after much research and personal experience, I have narrowed preferred SINGLE CARD solution down to the EVGA GTX 570 superclocked and the XFX HD 6970. Now, I need your words of wisdom as I would like to get the better card however I am not that great with making conclusions myself

I am aware of ATi's abysmal driver support and things like eyefinity or Physx mean nothing to me, just knowing which is the better card in the long run for gaming would suffice. Thanks and I hope you don't see this thread and think to yourself..."Damn! Another choose my graphics card..."

My current rig is:
AMD Phenom II x6 1100T black edition 3.3ghz

Gigabyte ga-990fxa-ud3

4 gigabytes corsair 2000mhz

XFX HD 4890

Thanks all!

AMD's driver support issues are vastly over exaggerated, Nvidia has just as many problems. If you just care about which is the better card and not about physx and the such, then the 6970 generally will offer a bit better performance, and has better crossfire scaling in case you do want to get a second sometime down the road.

I'd go with the 6970 but that's me.

I was pretty much in the same situation about a month ago. I went with the 6970 and haven't had any issues with drivers or games. The only minor issue I have with the card is that it can get pretty hot in graphic intensive games causing the fan to ramp up, which can get a little noisy for my liking. I'm wishing now that I had bought a card with a non-reference cooler like gigabyte's windforce cooler or the msi twin frozr.

Nvidia drivers are just as bad at times as AMDs, I have had to roll back Nvidia drivers in hte last 2 month more than I did AMD over a few years.
